Anastasia Beverly Hills: Modern Renaissance palette

Hey loves,
Today I have a VERY exciting review for you, even though you might have seen it a thousand times already and could be sick of it. Here is another review of the Modern Renaissance palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills!

modern

My ‘What I got for my birthday’ post will be up shortly on my blog but I couldn’t wait to review this specific one because I got this STUNNING palette as a gift from my best friend and my boyfriend. When I first saw this, I just started crying (what a surprise). I was so flabbergasted that people would do this for me because the Modern Renaissance palette by Anastasia isn’t that cheap, especially since it came from the United States (custom fees woohoo). But let’s start with the actual review and not me being emotional, like always.

I’m a big fan of the colour of the packaging, which is a beautiful pinky lilac, however I’m not a big fan of the material the palette is made of. It’s made of velvet and while it feels soft, it gets dirty very easily. In particular if you’re a messy person like me. I like the double ended brush that comes with it as well. Quick side note, the fluffy end of the brush tends to shed while applying eyeshadow, which is a bit annoying, but otherwise it is a great brush!

You’re paying +/- £41.00 for the palette, which is a little pricey but the quality is so incredible, that it is worth every pound, euro, dollar, etc.. The palette has a total of 14 eyeshadows that are a mix of warm/cool neutrals or pops of pink/red. It has 11 mattes and 3 metallics/shimmery shades.

The shadows are extremely buttery and soft and immensely pigmented! They blend like a dream and no trace of patchiness. Love Letter is a little less pigmented but that is very normal with this type of berry/purplish colours, since they are hard to produce!
Swatches are applied with my finger and without any fix+ or other stuff.

I love the shades of this palette because the colours captivate me. I love warm colours and specifically red. The palette is very versatile. Red Ochre is my favorite colour of this whole palette, some of the other colours that I really adore are: Golden Ochre, Love Letter, Burnt Orange and Realgar.

I love this palette so much and it is definitely one of my all time favourites, maybe even ride or die! The shade selection, the overall blend-ability and pigmentation of the shades is impressive, but Anastasia please change the material of the packaging, I want to keep taking beautiful pictures without coloured dust all over the palette, haha.

What do you think of the Modern Renaissance palette? Do you have it in your possession or want to? Let me know what you think in the comments!
See you next time and lots of love!
