Today I have a very exciting review!
After craving, wanting, crying and furthermore, the Soft Matte Lipcream in Stockholm from NYX for over a year, I finally got my hands on it when I went to Ghent!
So without further ado, the review.
I really like the packaging. It has a non-transparent tube but with the same colour as the cream and the handle is matte and black. The wand has a doe foot applicator which is a bit stiff but I found this very handy during application! The small size is also great when you want to travel and take them with you. The bottom of the SML says the name of the city which is easy to quickly find the colour you want in your stash!
The first thing I noticed when I opened Stockholm was not the colour itself but the smell of the Soft Matte Lip cream. Wooohooo, I have a very sensitive nose (like really sensitive) so it was impossible not to notice the smell. It smells sweet, like vanilla or marshmallows.
The pigmentation on Stockholm is really good, however I’ve heard that the pigmentation varies between shades, so be aware. The formulation is very mousse-like and soft while applying and the colour pay-off is really good. I don’t find the need to add a second layer. However, the real surprise was not having any transfer once it completely dried down. Imagine my surprise since it’s a cream! I’ve ready a lot of reviews saying the Soft Matte Lipcreams did not dry down, but I didn’t experience this in the slightest.
Stockholm is a beige-pinky-peachy nude shade. Oh wow, describing shades and I, do not match well. Stockholm is absolutely beautiful and I’m obsessed. After looking for a trillion shade, I finally found my favourite every day shade!
I don’t find Stockholm too drying but it is matte, not the kind of matte that makes your lips wrinkly though. It’s very long-lasting on my lips- unless you’re going to be drinking or eating, than you might want to touch it up. This was not a disappointment since I have not found anything matte that survives my eating habits. They’re lightweight and very comfortable on the lips.
Overall I’m obsessed with the soft matte lip creams of NYX and I’m looking forward to expanding my collection! I hoped you enjoyed this review and see you next time.
Lots of love!
