Hey loves,
I know my blog has been Colourpop heavy lately but it’s for a very good reason. All of their products are super affordable and very hyped up. Today I will be reviewing the Colourpop x Kathleen Lights Dream Street Palette.
Kathleen Lights has been one of my favourite YouTubers ever since I started doing makeup and found her on Youtube. She’s one of the most relatable youtube personalities for me because of her interests, quirkiness and also her anxiety. She always makes me laugh when watching her videos and she’s one of those people I will happily support by buying her collabs. Last spring or summer (I cannot remember) she came out with a brand new collab with Colourpop Cosmetics called the Dream Street Collection. I was able to get my hands on the lip kit that she came out with and I reviewed it here. However, I was still uncertain about the palette. It looks like a bunch of nudes with a pop of red and a pop of blue. Nothing too exciting, right? But the palette kept bugging me and I always had it in the back of my mind. So, a few months ago I found a group on Facebook where the customs would be divided and I went ahead and purchased the palette.
This palette is, personally, one of the most beautiful products Colourpop has ever released. I love the rose gold/cream marble design of both the box and the palette itself. It’s so aesthetically pleasing to me. The palette contains twelve shades of which six mattes and six shimmers. The palette is not the biggest but I don’t mind because it’s easier to store into your makeup collection and easier to travel with. I do wish it had a mirror though. This palette retails for $16 and is available on Colourpop.com.
This palette was actually my first time trying the Colourpop eyeshadows and it didn’t disappoint. The mattes are beautiful and very soft. There is a bit of kick up but nothing too dramatic. The mattes blend and build upon each other like a dream. The only shades that gave me a bit of a hard time were Elfish and Water Bearer. Both are very dark colours and a little bit dry but they managed to blend in the end. You just have to be a bit more patient.
The shimmers were different than what I was expecting but not in a bad way. I was expecting them to be a lot more metallic but they’re actually a real shimmer. They’re not metallic nor satin but a beautiful wash of shimmeriness. The only colour that I would describe as a satin shimmer is Moony.ย Now let’s get to the swatches and looks!

I must say that this palette is indeed dreamy and right up my alley. I love the way that this is a neutral palette but it still has some interesting colours such as the red and the duochrome light blue/green and therefore isn’t neutral at all. I love the formula of the eyeshadows and the packaging is stunning. I would definitely recommend this palette as your first Colourpop palette if you into these tones.
That’s it for today’s review! I hope you liked this and have you ever tried anything from Colourpop? What’s your view of this brand?
Lots of love and see you next time!
