Hey loves,
Today’s post is going to be a review on the very hyped Milk Makeup Hydro-Grip Primer. This primer promises hydration in a shot and incredible longevity of your makeup. Let’s see if it lives up to the hype!
Packaging
The packaging is really nice and clear with a green reflecting logo and the name of the brand. It has a specific pump mechanism where the bottom comes upwards everytime you pump three times. You will legitimately be able to use every single drop of products which I like. I have enjoyed seeing the process of using this product. You get 45 ML and it retails for $30 – ยฃ22 – โฌ26 when buying it directly from the Milk Makeup website. However, Milk Makeup is also available on Cult Beauty and there it retails for ยฃ27. Unfortunately, on Cult Beauty Milk Makeup only ships to the UK and Ireland, not to the rest of Europe. I used a service called Forward2me.com which will ship a product to an address in the UK and will then send it to your home. That’s how I was able to get my hands on this product. I have also purchased their new Cannabisย Hydrating Face Mask (review to come) through this service and have no complaints thus far.
Formula
The formula is quite unique. It has a slight green tint which isn’t visible on the skin once applied. The scent is very reminiscent of the J.One Jelly Pack Primer (review here) but smells a bit more herbal. I have very dry skin and when I apply the Hydro Grip Primer, it instantly hydrates the skin and feels refreshing. The formula is quite tacky without being too tacky and foundation looks beautiful on top of it. You look very healthy because the hydration is visible through the foundation. My face seems to be dewy in certain areas and that’s all I want.
What amazed me the most was the longevity. This primer really does extend the wear of your makeup without turning too dry. I wouldn’t say it intensely still hydrates my skin at the end of the day but dry patches and creasing in fine lines have reduced significantly. My foundation looks overall flawless, natural and hardly faded. I do want to mention one flaw of the Hydro Grip Primer. Don’t pump more than 2-3 shots on your hand and apply it to the face. That’s too much. Your foundation will end up looking cakey and balled up. I did this one time and it didn’t look pretty. I rubbed my finger on my face and balled up foundation bits would roll off. Less is more!
Overall, I’m really impressed with the Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer. It does hydrate my skin. It does extend the wear of my makeup and it does make it look absolutely flawless. As long as you don’t use more than three shots, that is. I have been using it every day since I purchased it and I’m pleased to see that I’m already half-way. I will absolutely repurchase this product once I empty it!
That’s it for today’s review.
What do you think of this primer and do you have anything from Milk Makeup?
Lots of love and see you next time!
