Today I want to review a single eyeshadow. I know what you’re thinking ‘one single eyeshadow, why?’. But this is no ordinary single eyeshadow. This is a very affordable and stunning one. Today I want to introduce you to the Essence Melted Chrome Eyeshadow in 02 Ironic!
I first saw this little guy in reviews of other bloggers such as Mademoiselle O’Lantern and Simple Serenity. I saw swatches, the reflection, read some other reviews and immediately was convinced that I had to have it. I went to my local drugstore and bought one of the shades, which I also showed in my ‘Drugstore Haul‘. The packaging is quite simple and cheap. It’s round and made of plastic. You get 2 grams of product and it retails for €2,99.
Essence says this formula has an exciting bouncy texture and a strong pigmentation. They have a trendy colour selection with shades like silver, copper, nude and other. There’s a total of six shades available. I personally hope they will release other shades in the future. The only shade that I found visually pleasing was 02 Ironic. I look forward to a rich gold, a blinding champagne and other shades like that. Ironic is a beautiful taupe with a cool undertone and a silver reflection.
The formula is indeed very bouncy and creamy. I think the texture is very reminiscent of the Colourpop Super Shock Formula. It truly feels like cream the longer you touch it but transforms to a powder on the eyes. The pigmentation is insane, at least in my opinion. You need the tiniest bit to get a blinding effect. There’s hardly any fall-out as well which is amazing. The Melted Chrome Eyeshadow is not necessarily glittery because it doesn’t have big glitter particles but it is very shimmery and metallic. A foiled dream.
If you want to see this beauty in action, go to my recent ‘Full Face Of New Makeup‘ where I apply this to my eyeballs. I really adore this little shadow and I cannot wait to use it more. I think it’s a very universally flattering shade and will suit a variety of skin tones. I also think this is the perfect eyeshadow for bridal looks or other more formal occasions.
That’s it for today’s review. I will definitely be picking up more shades from this Melted Chrome line and I hope that they will expand their shade range. I need more, hahaha.
Did you get your hands on this and if so, do you like it?
Lots of love and see you next time!
