Hey loves,
Milani Cosmetics. I never really purchase products from them and recently I wondered why that is. Today, I will be reviewing the Milani Strobelight in the shade Afterglow.
I actually don’t have an explanation of why I almost never review Milani products. I guess the reason could be that they’re targeted as an ‘affordable’ brand but I feel like their prices are a bit too steep to be considered affordable. It’s not expensive but not cheap either, you know? Hence why I’ve never gravitated towards them. However, Mariah Leonard mentioned this product a while ago and I finally took the jump and bought this little fella.
The Milani Strobelight Highlighters are available in seven different shades on Milani’s website orย Beauty Bay. They retail for โฌ14 and contain 8,5g. The packaging is quite simple but beautiful. I love the embossed pattern in the highlighter. It makes the product feel luxurious. The little application tip is also cute haha.
I got the shade ‘Afterglow’ which is (I think) the lightest of the bunch. It seemed like the colour that wouldn’t be too dark for me. I must say that this is one of the most amazing formulas ever. The formula of this ‘Strobelight’ is very smooth and not chunky or powdery. It feels like butter, haha. The pigmentation is definitely present. Be careful or you will be too blinding. That’s a thing now thanks to Milani. Nevertheless, when applied with caution, you can choose between a soft subtle sheen or a blinding highlight. The formula never emphasises texture or looks dry on the skin. It looks quite natural actually. The finish is a mixture of glossy but still metallic.
The only thing that I regret to inform is that the shade isn’t my cup of tea. It’s definitely great for people on the pale spectrum but that prefer a silvery/cool highlighter. I feel like the base of ‘Afterglow’ is too white and it ends up looking weird on my skin. And I prefer something a bit more yellow/golden. But that’s just my skin tone, you know? I think I will pass this to a friend and repurchase a different colour. Because I do love this ‘Strobelight’ very much and I would recommend it!
That’s it for today’s review. I do want to mention that this Milani product was bought in May and thus hasn’t broken my No-Buy-July ๐ I think I will review more Milani products in the future. I already have my eye on some things. The quality of this product just convinced me, you know? What do you think of this product?
Lots of love and see you soon!
