Trying Out Soap Brows: Does It Work?

Hey loves,
So in today’s post, I want to talk about the Soap Brows Trend. Putting soap into your brows seems to be revolutionary for a lot of people. I want to see if it works and if it is worth the hype!

I have always struggled with setting my brows and making them look fluffy for the rest of the day. The hair of my eyebrows is quite long and therefore heavy. Brow gels have helped quite a bit but still, at the end of the day, my brow hairs would be coming down. In comes the solution of soap. Or at least, that’s what the internet says. People claiming that all you need is a bar of soap and a spoolie. Tada, your brows will be fluffy all day long. I was quite interested you see and decided to test it out for a few days.

What You Need & Application
So what you need is the following. One bar of soap. Preferably clear and unscented. And quite cheap if you will. DON’T BUY A SPECIAL KIND OF BROW SILK LIKE THE ONE FROM ICONIC LONDON. Too expensive. A cheap bar of soap will do. A spoolie for the brows. You can choose which size or shape you want. Next up, I also use a little setting spray from Saturday Skin. This used to be an Essence Mist. However, I completely used it up and filled it water especially for this. Last but not least, your brow product. Whether it be an eyebrow pencil, dipbrow, brow powder, tinted brow gel. Doesn’t really matter.

This looks green but trust me, it’s clear.

So, I like to shape and fill in my brows before doing the soap thing. Some people do it the opposite way but that doesn’t really work for me. I’m currently using the ABH Dipbrow Gel, even though it’s almost empty. Next up, I take the little setting spray and spray that on the soap. Then I rub my spoolie in the soap. And then you apply that to the brows. I like to make my brows quite fluffy and give them some shape. You want to make sure that you don’t have any big lumps of soap in your brows though. And tada, you have wonderful brows. It’s that simple.

The Positive Side
First of all, I’m never doing anything else ever again. Goodbye brow gels. Goodbye, all of that. A cheap bar of soap is the way to go. Putting the soap in your brows truly makes them stick up all day. My brows have never looked this good at the end of the day as it does with the soap. They’re still quite fluffy and how I want them to be. The soap allows the prefered shape of the brows to be kept. Furthermore, a bar of soap isn’t expensive and you barely have any waste. The application is also very easy. And this will last you an eternity whilst brow gels tend to dry out after 1-3 months.

The Negative Side
Honestly, there’s only one negative thing. It’s not even that negative because it disappears after an hour. After application, the soap dries down and I feel like they’re slightly crunchy. Chrunchiness that you can feel. But as said before, that rapidly disappears. Also, I prefer to apply my eyebrow product, like pencil of dipbrow, before I have applied the soap. Some people do it the reverse way, but I feel like that doesn’t really work for me. That’s the negative side, even though it’s hardly negative!

I’m converted. This is one hype that I will follow forever. Never has a product made my brows fluffy ALL day long and I can’t believe how effective this is. I have tried it several times after this review and it is truly amazing. If you struggle with brow gels and keeping the hairs up. Buy yourself a bar of soap. It won’t disappoint, I swear!
Lots of love and see you next time!

  5. I actually never tried soap brows, it is cool idea definitely. I’m a little bit worried because my brow hairs are really long and spars, but I’ll give it a go definitely. I’m so done with spending so much money on brow gels, they get so expensive and you use them up so quickly. xx

    1. Mine are also quite long and I have to say that I have been using soap sinve first trying it. It has really done wonders for them! And yeah, I’m also done with spending money on gels. Some are just too expensive and they never really work for me! Xx
