Hey loves,
So today I want to introduce you to a new brand on the makeup market. Lisa Eldridge Makeup. I have been wanting to try her lipsticks for quite a while and finally got the opportunity to do so. I’ll share my thoughts about Velvet Fawn, one of her latest lipstick launches.
So I know what you’re thinking. Lynn, aren’t you on a No Buy? Did you break it? And here’s my answer. I didn’t! I was actually gifted this beautiful lipstick by my very supportive boyfriend. He knew I had been waiting for nude lipsticks from Lisa for such a long time and bought them as a little present. I’m so grateful for him and this little gift. It’s so sweet haha *insert tears*.
The Velvet Lip Colour retails for £26 which is €28-29 and my boyfriend let me know that he paid about €38 for the lipstick and shipping. So, it’s not the cheapest lipstick out there but well worth the effort if you’ve been waiting and wanting to try something from Lisa Eldridge. She previously came out with pinks and reds but I never really wear those a lot and nudes is where it’s at. My boyfriend bought the lightest shade of the bunch Velvet Fawn which was the shade that I really wanted haha. The lipstick is made in Italy, vegan and cruelty-free and contains 3.4 grams.
“A pretty and delicate fawn shade inspired by the classic 90’s shades in Lisa’s vintage makeup collection with the addition of skin lifting, lively undertones to make it extra flattering.
Saturated and highly pigmented lipstick with a beautiful, true velvet effect on the surface of the bullet which looks exactly like velvet fabric. The formulation is a creamy, hydrating matte with a slight sheen – it’s not a flat matte. The colour is long wearing and non drying to the lips.”

The packaging is really pretty. Classic, sophisticated and very chic. I feel like the aesthetic is one that never goes out of style. It’s something iconic, you know? I appreciate the attention to details. The top of the lipstick has the letter L and lips embedded into it. It’s a nice touch and I adore it. Velvet Fawn also has a magnetic closure which increases the high-end feeling. The texture of the lipstick is insane. You immediately understand why it’s called the ‘True Velvet Lip Colour’. The outside of the lipstick looks like velvet. It’s so unique and again increases the thought process and attention to details from the brand.
I’m not the biggest fan of matte formulas anymore. I often find them too drying and they emphasize the lip lines in a very negative way. I’ve grown to love sheer and glossy textures thanks to Allana Davison and Samantha Ravndahl, haha. However, this formula is very comfortable. It glides onto the lips and distributes product very evenly. No patchiness or emphasis of dryness. It actually feels creamy whilst being matte. It does get more matte after a few hours of wear. When that happens I just apply a lip balm on top and I’m good to go again. The longevity is very nice and re-applying is no hassle.

So, that’s my review on the Lisa Eldridge True Velvet Lip Colour lipstick in Velvet Fawn. Conclusion, I really love this lipstick and I have been wearing it on a daily basis. I either pat it on my lips and apply a little bit of lip balm or just apply it normally for more pigmentation. I personally think this formula is one of the best and you can tell the brand invested a lot of time and love into this lipstick. Check out Lisaeldridge.com if you’re interested in these lipsticks!
Lots of love and see you next time!
