Beauty Rewind: Favorite Makeup of 2019

Hey guys and welcome in 2020!
Another year has gone by and I’m really excited for the new year. I have a lot of things planned, some goals and general happiness that I want to achieve. However, I have one more post to finish 2019. Here are my favourite/most used products of last year!

First of all, primers were quite disappointing in 2019. I love the Milk Hydro Grip primer and even finished it and I will repurchase it one day but it didn’t blow me away. I was using moisturisers as primers for the most part of the year because I need dewy, glowy, moisturised skin. There wasn’t a primer that I was completely in love with, hence the reason that I’m not including a favourite.

Revolution Foundation Dropsrevolution-pro-foundation-drops-review-swatches

Dewy, sheer to medium coverage, supernatural finish on the skin, no cakiness, no patchiness, evens skin tone, best colour match I’ve had in a long time. This foundation is amazing. I didn’t review it because I didn’t have the time to do so but this is amazing. I will repurchase it soon. This was amazing for my dry skin and hands down my favourite foundation I have ever tried!

Makeup Revolution Conceal & Hydrate concealermakeup-revolution-conceal-and-hydrate-concealer-review-swatches

Imma say something that’s really bold. I think I love this more than my Catrice Liquid Camouflage concealer. I know, crazy! But this is so beautiful on the skin and I need it forever.

Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powderhourglass-veil-translucent-setting-powder-review

I didn’t realise that I only bought this powder this year! It feels like I’ve had this forever. This is my favourite powder of 2019 and I think many years to come. It doesn’t emphasise dryness and decreases creasing. I love it so much.

Nudestix Bondi Bae Bronzerbondi-bae-nudestix-review

This cream bronzer is really lovely. Blends out super nice and it made me fell in love with cream bronzer. So natural on the skin. The shade isn’t exactly perfect for my skin tone and can lean a bit too warm sometimes but I can get away with it!

Fenty Beauty Inda Sun Bronzerfenty-beauty-inda-sun-bronzer-review

The fairest of bronzers has arrived and it’s fantastic. I never thought I would love a matte bronzer as much as this one. The logo has completely faded and I already made a dip in it. Blends nicely and the shade is amazing.

Colourpop Lunar Has It Blushcolourpop-lunar-has-it-review-blush

This blush is really beautiful and my favourite of 2019. I love peachy orange blushes and this one is amazing. The shimmer isn’t too intense but just gives a nice glow on the skin and helps blend the blush.

Fenty Beauty Killawat Highlighter Lightning Dustfenty-beauty-killawat-lightning-dust-crystal-fire-highlighter-review

I’ve rekindled my love for this highlighter and I’ve almost hit pan on the left side (Lightning Dust). Looks very natural on the skin but gives the most subtle luminosity. The other shade, Crystal fire is for the days when I want my highlighter to be more intense.

Bperfect X Stacey Marie Carnival XL Pro palettebperfect-carnival-xl-pro-palette-review

I did not put this palette down since I bought it. Almost every single look on Instagram has been with this palette. The formula is lovely and everything blends so nicely.

Colourpop It’s My Pleasure Palettecolourpop-its-my-pleasure-palette-review

This palette is really lovely. I love the purples in this palette and the shimmers are also really amazing. The monochromatic vibes are real.

Nabla Cosmetics The Secret Palettenabla-the-secret-palette-review

Jezus christ, this palette is stunning and I loved it so much. The shades of brown don’t make me look tired. The shimmers are multidimensional and so fun to use. I love the shade Play Hard. Definitely a favourite of 2019.

Stila Glitter & Glow Gold Goddess & Diamond DustDSC_0559-01

2019 was the year of eye toppers. These are so amazing and gives something extra to any look. I really love this product and will pick up some new shades in the future.

Stargazer Neon Eyelinersstargazer-neon-eyeliners-review

This year truly was the year where I searched for fun products to pimp any eye look. Whether it be toppers or very colourful eyeliners! These are so pigmented and wonderful. I really love these!

Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in Fizzcolourpop-fizz-eyeshadow

A single shadow that is so special and so beautiful. I really loved this shade. It’s green but really reflecting and has different flecks of shimmer. So stunning!

Essence Melted Chrome in 02 Ironicessence-ironic-melted-chrome-eyeshadow

This shadow is.. well you can see it. AMAZING. The formula is similar to the Colourpop super shock shadows. Bouncy and very creamy. The shade is really pretty. I’m so sad I didn’t get to wear this on NYE. I didn’t have the time to take extra makeup from my dorm to my dad’s house. But I love this so much!

Lisa Eldridge Velvet Fawn Lipsticklisa-eldridge-velvet-fawn-review

This lipstick is fairly new to my collection but I can assure you that this is one of my 2019 favourites. The shade is perfect for my complexion. The formula is matte but not uncomfortable and I also use this as a blush!

Nudestix Lip + Cheek Balm in J Mamanudestix-jmama-review

This is another beautiful lipstick and favourite of 2019. It’s a gel formula, so it’s shiny but not glossy. It’s stays put for quite a long time but feels very comfortable on the lips. Almost nourishing. I love this!

Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb in Fenty GlowDSC_0558-01

But speaking about a gloss, this is superior to any gloss in my collection. The smell is amazing. The formula is stunning. This has been in my daily makeup bag since I got it. You can probably see the damage I’ve done to this product haha.

Colourpop What’s Your Sign lipstickDSC_0557-01

Last but not least, the Kathleen Lights collab. This shade is truly stunning and I love the formula so much. It can be too matte sometimes but it looks amazing with a bit of lip balm. The packaging is also so pretty.

  2. Love photos that you took, so pretty. I need to try those Revolution drops, they sound amazing. I think I’ll wait to go travelling to buy them, so I can pick right shade. I re discovered my love for Catrice liquid camouflage again, I didn’t use it for so long, but I bought another one and I’m loving it so much. xx

    1. Oh thank you so much for noticing that! I’ve been trying to find a good spot in my dorm to shoot some pictures for my blog. I usually work at night and I have to use artificial lighting, so it’s been a journey haha. I definitely recommend the Revolution drops, I really like them and Catrice is still a winner! xx

  4. I had no idea that Essence made a shadow formula that was similar to CP Super Shock Shadows so I’m super curious to try that it out someday. Also, It’s My Pleasure is one of my fave CP palettes in the monochromatic series & the Fenty Gloss formula is my #1 favorite gloss formula (literally what is on my lips right now lol). I really, really want to try more palettes from Nabla so I was excited to see this one on your list!

Also, totally random but I had to comment: in your Nabla palette the “Romeo” pan actually looks like there’s an image of a bearded man on it lol (maybe it’s just me…? I might be loosing it).
