Hey loves and welcome back to my blog!
Today I will be reviewing the NYX Cosmetics Bare With Me Tinted Skin Veil. What a mouthful. Anyway, let’s get this review started!
The Nyx Bare With Me Tinted Skin Veil has, besides the very long name, twelve shades in its range. I picked up the second lightest shade (shocking I know) which is Vanilla Nude and has a slight yellow and green (olive) undertone. When swatching the other shades in store, I noticed that the shades on my spectrum all had very different and sometimes weird undertones. The darker shades looked very orange or red. So yeah, I don’t know if the shade range is the best and make sure to swatch in store!
The packaging is really simple but cute. The dusty light pink is such a beautiful colour and I immediately recognize the product when searching for it in my collection. Also, squeezy tube, yes please! The front of the tube has the name of the product, the brand name and it says that it is non-comedogenic. The back of the tube has more information, like ingredients and so on. This product is also vegan. I was really happy when I read that. The Tinted Skin Veil retails for €10,40.
The formula is really nice. I was looking for a foundation that evens out my skin tone but doesn’t look to full-on. A tinted moisturizer really haha. This evens out my skin tone but doesn’t have enough coverage to cover everything. Pimples, freckles, moles are still visible but the overall redness is gone. It’s very light and breathable on the skin and you can build it up if you want. Don’t expect this to reach medium coverage though.
I love this foundation for a light layer of coverage all over the skin and then some concealer for the areas that need a bit more coverage. The overall look of the skin is very natural, not cakey and not makeup-y which I really enjoy. It’s so natural and slightly luminous. Absolutely fabulous.
That being said, the foundation doesn’t really last that long. However, I don’t mind. It will last up to 6 hours and that’s how long I need my foundation to be on my face. Longer makes me want to scratch my face off. I also want to mention that I don’t use powder on my face, so if you want to extend the longevity, setting the face might be a good idea.
Swatch Vanilla Nude + Full Face
Overall, I have been using this foundation every day since I purchased it and I’m almost halfway through the tube. I will repurchase this in the future. The skinlike finish and beautiful formula convinced me to do so. The shade range is questionable and I hope they extend it in the future. The sooner the better.
