Hey loves,
I have a very special review today. At the end of February, I was blessed with a very special present for my birthday. The Jackie Aina x Anastasia Beverly Hills palette. Today I will be reviewing this palette and letting you know whether it’s worth purchasing. Spoiler: it is.
As you might all know, or not know if you’re new, I have stopped the impulsive purchases when it comes to makeup. Food is still a challenge though haha. But last year, I did a low-buy and a no-buy and I succeeded and since then, my purchasing has been very different. I buy the things I really need or lack in my collection, like mascaras or concealer that I’ve run out of. Eyeshadow palettes aren’t something that you run out of very quickly and to be honest, it might take an entire lifetime to pan every single eyeshadow in my collection. So I decided not to buy any new eyeshadow palettes anymore unless they’re very unique and speak to me months after the launch date. This was one of those palettes. Unique and only gifted almost 6 months after it was released.
The Packaging
Have you ever seen anything so beautiful? Omg, I love it to bits. The crocodile faux leather look with multichrome shifts is really something else and quite unique in my opinion. The inside of the palettes is like any other ABH palette (note: not anymore though) with 14 shadows that have a mixture of mattes and shimmers. The thing that spoke to me the most was the colour scheme of this palette. It’s unlike any other ABH palette thus far. You have your neutrals, pinkies and warm tones but they all have a certain richness to them. They’re very saturated and almost popping in the pan. It’s not boring, you know?
The palette retails for โฌ49.95 on Beauty Bay. I think it’s the only place where the palette is still available or in stock. This palette is a limited edition and I have a feeling it won’t be around long anymore. So, if you want to buy it and you’ve been thinking about it since its launch, read the review and grab the palette if you made up your mind!
Performance
The formula was really nice. It reminded me of Soft Glam and Modern Renaissance. Perhaps even better than MR to be honest. The mattes blend very nicely and without a problem. The shades don’t turn patchy but give an even colour to the lid. The shimmers are really lovely as well. In the past, I found the ABH shimmers to be a bit lacklustre. They were always pretty but they missed a bit of shine, shimmeriness and they faded pretty quickly. These have an impact but aren’t too metallic and chunky. I would like them a mature shimmer. Has a lovely sheen and impact but isn’t too texturising for the eyes.
Swatches
My favourite shades are Sponsored, Trust Issues, Ginger, Wiggalese.

Looks
I have to be honest, I really like this palette. The shades translate well onto the eyeballs and they certainly have enough pigment to them to pack a punch (is that the right expression, I don’t know haha). I think Jackie Aina created a beautiful palette that will cater to the entire spectrum and can be loved by everyone. I certainly do, haha. It’s a worthy palette to be added to my collection and made me excited about makeup again.
