Beauty Bay Skincare: First Impressions

Hey loves and welcome back!
Beauty Bay is a UK makeup and skincare retailer and has a bunch of amazing brands in their shop, like Melt Cosmetics and SUVA Beauty. A few months ago, they started their own makeup company and recently skincare! I picked up some products and today I will review them for you!

SkinHit Hydrating Serum Hyaluronic Acid + Glycogen €6.50

Hyaluronic Acid, jezus, holy moly, guacamoly. I’ve had some experiences with it. Mostly bad. Hyaluronic acid seems to be to most hydrating gift of the gods for most people, but on me it just balls up, argues with my makeup and seems to make my skin more dry. I decided to give it one more try with this product from the Beauty Bay SkinHit range.

This super serum sinks into the skin in seconds to support long-lasting hydration and skin health. Formulated with hydration-heroes hyaluronic acid and glycogen, this serum draws and retains moisture into the skin, minimising the appearance of fine lines and a tight, dehydrated complexion.

I’m really happy with this product. The consistency is really thin and in comparison to other Hyaluronic Acid not thick, which means that it doesn’t ball or peel of my face. I also feel like it works with makeup on top. For the hydrating aspect, it is quite hydrating and that’s the first time I have experienced it with hyaluronic acid haha. All in all, I’m really pleased with this product and I will continue to use it.

SkinHit Clarifying Serum Bakuchiol + Oatmeal €7.00

Hello everybody and welcome to today’s chemistry lesson, I suck at it but google.com will save our day. So apparently Bakuchiol is an alternative for the very agressive retinol and is made from the babchi plant. It’s supposed to have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. The oatmeal is supposed to hydrate the skin again. I was really intrigued by this product and wanted to give it a go. So here we are.

This lightweight clarifying serum works to fight blemishes and tackle pigmentation at the same time. Formulated with bakuchiol, a natural retinol alternative which supports blemish control whilst tackling pigmentation, and colloidal oatmeal which helps to moisturise and restore the skin.

I’ve been testing this product for almost three months and I definitely see a difference in my skin. It’s a small one but it’s there. The product wasn’t too harsh on my skin, not harsh at all really. The pigmentation left behind by acne spots fades a little quicker than normal which I’m happy about and I feel like my skin gets hydrated in the mean time. I feel like the oatmeal does work but it can feel a bit sticky in the skin. Almost like it sits on top of the skin and if you apply too much it will ball up. Other than that, it’s a lovely product.

Thirst Trap Rich Moisturizer €7.75

Moisturizer is key in any dry skin routine. Mine included. I’ve come to find out that a creamy consistency hydrates my skin more and Hyaluronic acid in a moisturizer does nothing for me. When I saw this moisturizer and its lovely price, I decided to take the chance and go for it.

This nourishing hydrator sinks into the skin to nourish and replenish the complexion during the day or whilst you sleep. Formulated with colloidal oatmeal to help hydrate, soothe, and restore the skin, as well as oat lipid which is rich in ceramides, a natural component of the skin which helps to retain moisture without clogging pores.

The moisturizer is probably my favourite product that I tested of the Beauty Bay skincare range. It’s quite thick and creamy, so it will take some time to sink into the skin. But when it does, it hydrates my skin for almost the entire time of wearing makeup. I really enjoy it. My face never feels tight or dry but calm and hydrated. It’s a lovely product and the amount of grams for the price is insane. I will repurchase this for sure.

That’s it for my (kind of) first impressions on the Beauty Bay Skincare line. I tested them out for a few months so I guess you can call this a review haha. I will update you on the Bakuchiol because I think that product takes a bit longer too see a significant result. I can see a little difference now, So I’ll update you in the future. Are you interested in this skincare line from Beauty Bay? Have you already tried some products?
Lots of love and see you next time!
