Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Cream Blush & Bronzer Review & Swatches

Hey loves and welcome back to Peculiar belgian,
Fenty Beauty is a quite a new brand, only three years old and already well loved by many, me included. I’ve been a big fan of cream products lately and the new Fenty Cream collection caught my eye. Are they worth the hype though?

Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Cream Bronzer ‘Butta Biscuit’

A light-as-air, non-greasy cream bronzer that effortlessly melts into skin for a natural-looking bronze or soft contourβ€”in 7 no-fuss shades for all skin tones.

– Fenty Beauty

The formula of the Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Cream bronzer is quite emolient and very creamy to the touch. When applied to the skin it looks quite glowy but not greasy as promised. It definitely has a luminosity to it, but it also seems to have a matte texture when dried down. I would say it has a satin-matte formula. Not too emolient and not too matte. I love a satin texture to be honest, so I really like this bronzer. The longevity of this product is also really nice. It will last almost an entire day (I usually wear my makeup for about 8 hours) with minimal fading. So, that’s also really nice.

The cream bronzer is easy to apply with a brush and a sponge. The finish with both tools is slightly different. When you apply it with a brush, the bronzer looks more evident on the face. It looks a bit more seamless with a sponge. But you have more control of the placement.

Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Cream Blush ‘Petal Poppin’

A light-as-air, non-greasy cream blush that instantly melts into skin for an effortless wash of color, giving life to all skin tones with a no-fuss, natural-looking flush in 10 sheer shades.

– Fenty Beauty

I’ve been afeared of blush for years. Until I discovered which shades suit my skin tone and most importantly, my love for cream blush. Powder is such a difficult texture for my dry skin. I was really excited for the Fenty cream blushes. The formula is in many ways the same as the cream bronzer. It has the same creamy, emolient texture with a satin-matte finish. Slight sheen on the cheeks but it will last a really long time. Again, I really enjoy the formula of this cream blush.

I’ve heard and seen that these blushes are getting some mixed reviews. The description definitely says that these are sheer but I can only speak for Petal Poppin’. I’m planning on getting RosΓ© Latte too though. Petal Poppin’ is not sheer for my skin tone, it’s actually quite pigmented. Petal Poppin’ isn’t a shade that I go for quite often. It’s quite a vibrant pink and I’m not a pink girl. It actually looks like the shade that I am when I get sunburnt, haha. And not the burn-to-tan kind of shade. The ‘it just got burned and it hurts’. So it took some getting used though.

There’s something that I don’t like..

There’s something I don’t like about the cream blushes and bronzers. Well don’t like is a bad word, but I expected something else and thus I’m little disappointed. The shade range is my issue. I feel like they did such a good job with the powder bronzers and Inda Sun is probably my favourite shade ever. Butta Biscuit is quite a bit darker than Inda Sun and it makes the application a bit less effortlessly. I can easily go overboard with this shade and look a bit too orange.

The blushes have the same issue. I was so excited for the cream blushes and then I saw all the shades and they were all.. pink. Bright pink, purple, fuschia and an orange. I’m missing the warm brownie shades. More neutral shades for every skin tone. This blushes are trendy right now but they’re not the classical shades that everybody loves. Maybe I’m wrong but I would’ve been a lot more excited if the shade range was a bit more balanced. I also think that the sheerness of these products can be a problem for people with a deeper complexion than myself.

That’s it for today’s review. In conclusion, I love the cream formula but I’m not the biggest fan of the shades. I’m hoping they will expand the shade range of both products because I would love to see more fair-deep shades in the cream bronzer and more variety in the blush shades. That’s all. Let me know what you think of this collection! πŸ™‚
Lots of love and see you next time!

  1. I picked up Butta Biscuit and a few of the cream blushes during the Sephora Sale, but haven’t gotten a chance to play with them yet. I can see what you mean with the bronzer shade range, though. Amber is such a grey-toned contour shade that it would have been nice if they released a lighter-toned bronzer for super fair skin.

    1. I forgot to include swatches unfortunately! I will do that asap. But you can see in the comparison that Inda Sun is so much lighter than Butta Biscuit. I feel like it’s a lil sad. Which shades of the blushes did you pick up? πŸ™‚

  3. I just got Butta Biscuit last week and I’ve been using it a ton, it’s the perfect shade for me while the powders are a bit too orange (I pretty much have the opposite problem) the blush looks great, it’s on my list too but I just got the Honest Beauty one and I want to see how I much use I get out of it before getting another one, but when I do I’ll probably get this shade

  4. These look like the dream for dry skin!! On my wish list for sure!

Do you mind dipping into the product as opposed to a stick for cream?

    1. They’re stunning on the skin!! I don’t mind dipping into it as much. Hair and fibres easily get caught into it, but I don’t mind. I do prefer sticks though! πŸ™‚

  5. I haven’t tried any of the Fenty bronzer or blushes, cream or powder but I think I would like the cream bush. I would probably go with Inda Sun instead of the cream bronzer, I’m worried I would look orange too with the smaller shade range. Maybe she’ll release more shades in the future. I hope she does! Great review! x

    1. The cream blushes are really nice. I have bought another shade since reviewing Petal Poppin, haha. RosΓ© Latte is stunning! If you’re worried about turning orange, Inda Sun is definitely a safer bet! xx
