Danessa Myricks Balm Contour Review

Danessa Myricks, the brand that I’ve dreamt about. No really, the color fixes were a main role in one. But the Balm Contour caught my attention more. Finally the brand is available on Cult Beauty and I immediately picked it up!

Details

The Danessa Myricks brand is such an exciting brand to me. Danessa Myricks is also such an amazing makeup artist that creates the most beautiful looks I have seen in a long time. Her ColorFix products have been really hyped lately and so deserving. I really want to pick up some of those but they’re almost all sold out on Cult Beauty. However, the Balm Contour was second on my list. It got raving reviews on Youtube by some of my favourite youtubers like Jackie Aina and Allana Davison.

The Balm Contour is described as a weightless, easy to use and super blendable, buildable cream. It has to give your cheekbones a natural, effortless but impactful lifted and sculpted appearance.

It’s infused with Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E and Meadow-foam Seed oil to hydrate and nourish the skin.

Cult Beauty’s description basically backs up these claims stating that the Balm Contour is creamy, versatile and has a real skin finish. It shpuld melt into the skin and is blurring, plumping and nourishing. Damn, a whole lotta claims.

The Balm Contour retails ยฃ26 or $26 and is available on Cult Beauty or Beautylish. It contains quite a bit of products with 10 grams.

Finally, the Balm Contour is cruelty-free, gluten-free, paraben-free, talc-free and vegan. There are 8 shades available.

Formula

The Baclm Contour has a balmy texture which feels really creamy to the touch. It’s super easy to blend but quite pigmented on fair skin (considering shade 1 ofcourse)Really easy to blend. It’s emollient but not too slippery. What I mean by that is that you can concentrate the product in one place without it travelling everywhere. Precise application isn’t hard with this cream bronzer.

It has a semi-matte finish with a little bit of a sheen due to the balmy texture of the product. But my favourite thing is what I appreciate most about cream/liquid products, the translucency. The Balm Contour has a sheeriness to it that allows the skin to come through. It doesn’t cover up the skin but provides a beautiful bronze/contour look whilst looking natural and that skin-like finish.

Swatches

I have shade 1 and even though this is called the ‘Balm Contour’, the shade is kinda neutral but gives more warmth than I expected. I can definitely build it up and not apply another bronzer because of the warmth. I like the colour on my skin tone but I do have to be careful with the pigmentation, so keep that in mind when using this product if you have paler skin!

So that’s my first interaction with the wonderful Danessa Myricks brand. I can’t wait to get my hands on the Color Fix creams and I’m so excited to see what this brand will bring to the future. It’s a mix of makeup artistry and influencing. I’m all here for it. The Balm Contour retails ยฃ26 or $26 and is available on Cult Beauty or Beautylish.
