Em Cosmetics is one of those dreamworthy brands that I’ve been wanting to try for a long time. When I got the opportunity to purchase their new So Soft Collection (and more), I was thrilled and today I want to share my first review of the brand with their new cream bronzer and cream blush.

DETAILS SO SOFT BLUSH
Let’s start with some deets on the blush and on the right side you will find the details of the cream bronzer. The So Soft Blush is described as a soft, blendable cream blush infused with Vitamin E and Squalane. It has a luxurious and creamy texture that will apply seamlessly with a satin, skin-like finish.
Although it’s a cream formula, there is a blend of powders and emollients to create the said texture. The So Soft Blush retails for $30 (which is a bit steep in my opinion) and there are six shades to choose from. From neutrals to bright orange to a beautiful berry tone, the blush range has something for everyone and is quite diverse in my opinion. Other than that, the So Soft Blush is cruelty-free and gluten-free.
DETAILS SO SOFT BRONZER
The bronzer is described as a lightweight formula which is also enriched with ingredients like Squalane and Vitamin E. It’s said to have a creamy and soft texture that provides effortless blending and a sunlit glow or a subtly sculpted complexion. Pretty much identical to the So Soft Blush formula.
Again, it’s also supposed to have that whipped, mousse-like texture which will give you that skin-like finish.
Something that I would like to discuss is the shade range. Despite their being only four shades, I feel like the shade range is divided equally and pretty diverse for only four shades. They did what most brands refuse to do and I really appreciate the effort from them despite being a smaller brand.
FORMULA
The So Soft collection couldn’t have been named any better. The name is spot on for the texture and consistency for both the blush and the bronzer. I’m not going hold back, this formula is absolutely impeccable.
It’s so creamy and soft to the touch. The consistency just melts when you touch it and that only aids the blendability of this product. Both the bronzer and the blush have a similiar, almost identical, formula. Again, it’s so creamy that I can’t believe this holds it shape in the tube.
Other than being creamy, it’s also quite pigmented and the combination of those two factors create some issues if you use too much. So application is very important with this one. i’m going to write a tip in caps so it resonates completely: DON’T APPLY THIS STRAIGHT TO THE FACE. You will use too much and it will go everywhere. Instead, do try applying it to your brush or sponge first and then on the face. This will give you an easy blending job and a seamless application.
My shade in the bronzer is Summer and it’s almost perfection. For the blush I have the shade Lychee. A bronzer for fair to light skin but with enough warmth to warm up the face. It also has a fine golden shimmer which is invisible to the eye once it’s on the face. Regarding the finish, both the blush and the bronzer have a soft-matte finish. Almost leaning towards a satin appearance. When my skin is thoroughly hydrated, it almost looks dewy on the skin.
Because the formula is creamy but eventually sets and dries down to a satin finish, it becomes very long wearing. Especially when you put a powder bronzer or powder blush on top. The combo will last you an entire day.
COMPARISON
Left to right:
Iconic London sheer bronze – Danessa Myricks balm contour – Patrick TA major sculpt- Fenty Beauty cream bronzer – Nudestix bondi bae – Em Cosmetics Summer bronzer

Personally I think that the Iconic London Sheer Bronze is closest in tone. It’s the most neutral and matching tone of my cream bronzers. However, it’s very sheer so once you blend it out it looks completely different. The closest bronzer to match is the Nudestix Bondi Bae bronzer. A little warmer in tone but other than that, almost identical in colour.

Left to right:
Em Cosmetics Lychee – Nudestix Salty Siren – ELF Putty Blush Turks & Caicos – Fenty Beauty Petal Poppin – Nabla Maybe Baby – Rare Beauty Bliss
Boys, I think we might have a dupe on our hands. The Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Blush in the shade Bliss is incredibly close in colour. I think Em Cosmetics is slightly more peach but other than that, no difference in colour. Atleast to my eyes haha. Would you be interested in a video comparing the two? Obviously the formula is different, but I’m so interested now.
Conclusion
I’m really partial to this collection. It’s completely how I want cream products to be. Long lasting but creamy and natural on the skin. If you haven’t purchased anything from Em Cosmetics and you have your eye on this collection, I recommend picking them up. They are extraordinary and incredibly easy to work with.
